Gemini CLI

Gemini CLI: Google’s coding agent for the terminal, built around very large context windows.

Not the same as the Gemini app

The Gemini app is a chat. Gemini CLI is an open-source agent in your terminal that reads and edits files and runs shell commands, with persistent project context kept in a GEMINI.md file.

Where it bites

The project’s own README says Google has replaced Gemini CLI with Antigravity CLI for unpaid-tier and Google One accounts. Before following a Gemini CLI tutorial, check which of the two tools your account is meant to use, or the steps will not match what you have installed.
